Spotlight On: Town Centre Community Fund

Kisharon Langon: Healthy Heart, Mind and Body Programme

The Edgware Town Centre Community Fund provides annual funding to charities, community groups, and initiatives in and around Edgware. This year, it awarded £26,900 in grants to 12 projects, promoting health and wellbeing, supporting young people, enhancing the environment, and bringing people together.

We’ll be announcing the second round of the Community Fund early in the New Year – so keep an eye out on our website for updates and information on how to apply.

Previous recipients of the Community Fund include Agnes Keszthelyi, who used the funding to support a community choir that meets weekly in Mill Hill, and Kisharon Langdon, which used the funding to support its Healthy Heart, Mind and Body programme.

Agnes Keszthelyi of Mill Hill Community Choir said: “The fund has enabled us to relaunch and grow. The choir is a welcoming space for anyone to experience the joy of singing and build a sense of community. Since restarting, we’ve welcomed new members weekly.”

Daniella Flowers from Kisharon Langdon added: “Support from the fund has gone to our Healthy Heart Mind and Body programme, which engages local residents with learning disabilities in activities improving health and connection. Sessions like Shop, Cook, Eat teach life skills, foster friendships, and combat loneliness. It’s already making a huge impact.”
